I am praying to my God of peace for Jesselyn’s family. Her book title called my attention and in about 45’ I skimmed it and found out that she had an Ecuadorian grandma as well as me; I am Ecuadorian living in Louisville. I also knew that Jesselyn’s dream was to compete in the 2024 Olympics. And I found out in my cell when I got home that she passed. Querida familia orando, El Señor es mi Pastor (Salmo 23)
I remember my first time in the ring I was so scared. Jesselyn taught me how to throw a punch, stay strong, and focus on the positive. Even though we grew apart and we never really talked anymore, I will never forget her.
