Adolph Montes' Obituary
Adolfo Montes, 88, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.
Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Adolfo was the beloved son of Luis Antonio Montes and Lydia Soto. He later made his home in New York City, where he worked for many years as a truck delivery driver before retiring. Though he and his former wife, Luz Maria Montes, were divorced, they remained close and shared a deep bond through their son.
Adolfo was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Church in New York City. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time with his family, traveling, cooking delicious meals, and reading the newspaper each morning with his loyal dogs by his side. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smells of his kitchen.
Those who knew Adolfo will remember his generous spirit, his boundless compassion, and his unwavering love for life, family, and animals. He lived with integrity and kindness, always putting others before himself.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
A viewing will take place from 5pm to 9pm at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on June 20, 2025 at 9:30am, with interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, honoring Adolfo’s lifelong love for animals.
