Arlene J Rudd's Obituary
It is with a heavy and sad heart to announce that Arlene Rudd passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 4, 2022 at Juniper Village, Paramus NJ. Arlene endured a lengthy, valiant fight and succumbed to the ravages of cancer. Recently Arlene and her husband Bill took up residence at Juniper Village Assisted living, where her bright smile and beautiful outgoing personality charmed their new friends.
Arlene was born in North Bergen NJ. She was the daughter of Edmund and Lee Schilp growing up in Cliffside Park NJ where she graduated from Cliffside Park High School. Arlene went on to work at McGraw Hill in NYC as a publishing secretary, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She would soon meet her future soulmate and husband, William Rudd. They celebrated 62 years of marriage this past August.
Arlene was a member of the First Congregational Church of River Edge where she was an ardent volunteer. She also was a Coordinator for Meals on Wheels and scout leader amongst many other charitable endeavors.
Arlene was always there to help friends, neighbors and acquaintances with her beautiful smile and helpful presence.
When not maintaining her home and not actively volunteering, Arlene enjoyed travel, camping, motion pictures, reading, TV and parlor games with friends. Arlene always treasured precious time with family and friends.
She is survived by her Loving husband, William Rudd, her Loving Daughter and Son in law, Lynda and Richard Borge along with cousins Robert and Jacqueline Haley.
There will be no viewing, but a Memorial service is being planned at the First Congregational Church of River Edge for the near future.
