Behzat Sivisoglu's Obituary
Dr. Behzat Sivisoglu, born 1924 in Devrek, Zonguldak passed away peacefully at his home in Cliffside Park, New Jersey in the United States on April 13 th , 2025. His father was former Congressman representing Zonguldak, Rifat Sivisoglu. His mother was Abdullah kizi Sidika Kalayci.
Dr. Sivisoglu was a much beloved figure across a wide range of cities that he lived in during his lifetime, both in Turkey and the US. His passion was always helping people, both as a physician and as a family man – along with helping countless others throughout his life. Dr. Sivisoglu was a highly accomplished physician, with specialties of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He had graduated from Istanbul University’s medical school, the oldest current medical school in Turkey. Dr. Sivisoglu went on to be Gastroenterology Clinic Sefi at Turkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hastanesi Ankara, Gastroenterology Fellow at both Temple Health of Philadelphia and Lahey Clinic of Boston, and Chief Medical Resident Medical College of Ohio, prior to opening his private practice clinic in Massachusetts.
Dr. Sivisoglu is survived by his sister Ayten Erkmen and his four children Ceyda Yuce, Rifat Cem Sivisoglu, Seyda Buyukkoc, and Ferda Benturk, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
