Charles Eshrich's Obituary
Charles H. Eshrich, 92, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2013. He was born August 19, 1920 in New York City to Charles and Anna Staehli Eshrich. He was a graduate of Hasbrouck Heights High School. He entered military service in the Army in 1943 and proudly served in the 12th Armored Division until discharge in 1946. While employed at the Permutit Co. in NYC, he met and married his sweetheart of 65 years Gilda R. Volpe. His career as a mechanical engineer at Sanderson & Porter and Ebasco services took him around the world, which he enthusiastically enjoyed. His professional accomplishments included directing engineering and design of three of the world's largest desalination plants in the Middle East. He ended his career with his own consulting and sales representative company. His true happiness was at his home with his family and friends. His life was enhanced by good food and wine, music, dancing, cars, his garden, his pet cats, and tackling any and all home repair projects. He never lacked appreciation or failed to express it. His life was guided by strong principles and a sense of responsibility. His willing and able hands touched the lives of all around him. He will be truly missed by his beloved wife, Gilda, his daughter, Sandra J. Gohde and her husband, Robert Gohde; daughter Carole A. Yorkin; grandchildren Andrew Gohde, Lauren Forliano and her husband Michael Forliano; Alexander Yorkin and Meredith Yorkin; and great grandson, Landon Forliano. His family gratefully appreciates and acknowledges the compassionate care he received from Amedisys Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements by Hennessey Heights Funeral Home
