Christine Cecilia Schroeder's Obituary
Christine Cecilia Schroeder, 78, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. She was born on January 25, 1945 in Hackensack, NJ, the daughter of Marcel and Cecilia (Madden) Mullens. She married Carl F. Schroeder in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on October 20, 1973. Surviving are husband, Carl Schroeder of Watseka; one brother, Marcel (Frances) Mullens of Fair Lawn, NJ; three nephews, Kevin, Michael, and Thomas Mullens; and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in passing by both of her parents. She was a member of St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka, enjoyed crafting, and was active with ham radio. Christine enjoyed volunteering for various organizations. She was a member of Iroquois County Amateur Radio Club and Kankakee Area Radio Society.
Visitation was from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Additionally, visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 am.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery in nearby Lodi, NJ.
Memorials may be made to St. Edmund Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.
