CELLARY
Christopher George, of Allendale, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2014 with his loving wife and two sons by his side at home. He leaves his devoted wife of 32 years Patricia (nee Schelling), his dear loving sons Brian Christopher and Kevin William, his mother Leatrice, predeceased by his father George, baby brother to Carolynn Reynolds and her husband Richard, his brother and business partner Stephen and his wife Nancy, their daughter and his niece Joanna, and his aunt, Lucy Averill.
It is with great sorrow and dismay that our family loses this wonderfully exceptional and successful man. Chris will be forever missed and loved by all of us. He lived his life for his family and to help others. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, always telling a joke, his love of children and animals, and wanting to make others smile.
Chris grew up in Tenafly, NJ, attended Maugham School, Tenafly Junior High, graduated Peddie in Hightstown, NJ, then to University of South Carolina, his beloved Gamecocks, where he was recruited as a punter.
He was co-owner of Ford Fasteners, Inc. with his brother Stephen in Hackensack, NJ. He was a distinguished member of the Southeastern Fastener Association, Metropolitan Fastener Distributors and New England Fastener Distributor Association. He was known for his charismatic sales skills. A member of the Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, NJ for 36 years.
As a member of Archer United Methodist Church in Allendale, he always called his church his second family. He was President of Trustees and on the Pastor Parish committee for many years. A community man, he was head travel baseball coach for the Red Hawks, travel baseball coach for the Dawgs, Allendale Rec baseball commissioner, Rec basketball coach in elementary and junior high, intramural basketball coach at Northern Highlands High School, Bulldog football announcer and a member of the Northern Highlands High School Sports Association.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on June 7, 2014 at Archer United Methodist Church, 37 E Allendale Ave., Allendale, NJ at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Archer United Methodist Church. Arrangements made by Hennessey Heights Funeral Home, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.
