Consuelo Bonilla-Colon Rivera's Obituary
On Friday May 1st 2020, Consuelo Bonilla-Colon Rivera, loving wife and
mother of 3 children, passed away at the age of 85.
Consuelo was born on June 21, 1934 in Camuy, Puerto Rico to Juan
Bonilla and Ramona Bonilla (nee) Colon. She married Manuel Rivera on
December 10 1952, moved to Jersey City, NJ in 1959 and then to
Hoboken, NJ for 20 years where they raised their children. Upon
retiring they moved to Puerto Rico and returned in 2005 residing in
Secaucus, NJ for the past 15 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Manuel Rivera. Three
loving children, daughter Margarita Quinones and husband Gilbert, son
Hector Rivera and wife Cathy Attardi Rivera and daughter Carmen
Cortez and husband Carlos. Along with 2 sisters Olivia and Luisa and 2
brothers Goyo and Agapito.
Adored grandmother to Gilbert and Adam Quinones, Nicole Rivera
Weiss, Danny and Steven Rivera and Melissa and Carlos Cortez. Loving
great-grandmother to Brandon, Adam (AJ), Ariana and Marie Quinones.
Ava and Giana Weiss and Jordan Cortez.
Consuelo was a retired school aide from Puerto Rico and enjoyed sitting
in the sun knitting and crocheting intricate patterns and designs
admired by all who saw them and that she gifted to family, children and
friends. She also had a passion for flowers and plants.
Her kind and compassionate spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
