Gaetana Guardascione's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Gaetana. Born in Naples, Italy, she was married to our father, Mario, for fifty-two years. They emigrated to the United States on their honeymoon to create a better life for their family. She was a master seamstress in Italy and had the honor of creating many wedding and communion dresses for her nieces. Our mother was also a member of St. Padre Pio Church in Lavallette, NJ.
Gaetana was passionate, loving, fierce, and unwavering in her commitment to succeed. She was unapologetically direct, without malice or intent, as she always felt the need to be honest with everyone around her.
She is survived by her sons, Carlo and Salvatore, her daughters-in-law, Frances and Kristie, and her grandchildren, Lucia, Carolina, Amelia, Carlo, and Marcella. Gaetana was predeceased by her son, Gino (2015), her husband, Mario in (2025), and her parents Salvatore and Giovana Cretella.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 7th, 2025 from 10:00am to 2:00pm with a prayer service at 1:30pm at Bergen Funeral Home, 232 Kipp Avenue Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604.
