Hildebrando Cristobal Colom's Obituary
Born on August 1, 1956, in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Chris grew up in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Hildebrando Colom Marti and Carmen Hernandez Colom. He was the eldest of five siblings: Grace Colom, Brando Rainier Colom (deceased), Brando Antonio Colom, and Brando Joel Colom (deceased).
Chris was the proud owner of American Cake and Craft, a bakery supply business he built and ran with pride for many years. Known for his dedication, humor, and generosity, he was always ready to lend a hand and share a laugh. Chris brought warmth and joy to everyone he met.
He is survived by his beloved children: Christal Marielle Colom-Sclano and her husband Roberto, Matthew Colom, and Adrianne Camille Colom and her fiancé Pedro. He was the proud grandfather of Matteo and Cristiano Sclano, and Angelina and the late Valentina Colom. He is also survived by his former spouse, Adriana Colom, with whom he shared many meaningful years and memories.
Outside of work, Chris found happiness in cooking for others, sharing meals with family, and collecting coins and baseball cards. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his sense of humor, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home, 232 Kipp Ave, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.
