Ivan John Wiggins' Obituary
John Wiggins, 56 years of age, sadly left us on January 20, 2023 after a courageous year-long battle with acute myeloid leukemia. His fight was fueled by the continued support and encouragement from his loving friends and family. He was the husband of Tess Wiggins. They shared 31 beautiful years together. He was also a dedicated and devoted father to James and Jill Wiggins. He was an absolute role model to his children.
Born in New York City, he was the son of John and Marilyn Wiggins and brother to Lisa Arrigo. He was also “Fun Uncle John” to his many nieces and nephews. He spent many years as a professional limousine driver. More recently, John was employed by Brown Harris Stevens for over 7 years as a New York City doorman on 315 East 68th Street. Here he formed many impactful relationships and lifelong bonds with the residents he served. He loved his job and, most of all, loved to make people happy.
John enjoyed coaching his children’s little league teams, announcing for his son’s baseball games, riding his motorcycle, talking sports, joking with his childhood buddies from the Bronx, smoking cigars and spending quality time with his family. He will always be remembered for his larger than life personality. He touched so many lives and would light up the room with his presence. John was truly a one of a kind person with a big heart and we are all going to miss his joking personality and contagious laughter. He lived to make people laugh and put a smile on the faces of anyone who had the privilege of meeting him. John was a hard worker and a true family man.
A niche side inurnment will be held at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey at a later date.
