James Edward Schollin's Obituary
James Edward Schollin, Sr. of Old Bridge, NJ, formerly of Brooklyn,
NY, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2012, in his 68th year.
Jim was Born in Taft, CA. to the late George and the late Patricia
Schollin. Jim worked for Bell System from 1968-1994 and served his
country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from
1963 to 1968 as Radar man on the USS Charles S. Sperry DD 697 and
sailed the ocean blue. He loved to read and was an avid photographer.
Jim especially enjoyed taking pictures of his grandchildren, listening
to music and loved to travel, but only if it was to see his family,
either here or in France. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44
loving years, Claudine Porter, his beloved children, James, Jr. &
Erica, Christine & John, Michael & Eileen and William & Filomena, his
adored grandchildren, Mikayla, Jack, Caylin, Lily, Aiden, Ryan & Liam
and was a loving brotherto Richard & his wife Dawn Schollin. Also
surviving are many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be held
Thursday, September 27th, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm at the
Coney Island Memorial Chapel 2009 Mermaid Ave., Brooklyn, NY. A
funeral service will be held 8pm at the funeral home also on Thursday.
Burial will be held Friday at Brigadier General William C. Doyle
Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ at 10 am. All are asked to meet
at the cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his
name to The Make-A-Wish Foundation.
