Joseph Louis Pagan's Obituary
Joseph Louis Pagan, 80
Newark, NJ
Joseph Louis Pagan, 80, of Newark, NJ, passed away surrounded by his loving family. A Vietnam veteran and proud logistics specialist, Joseph heroically served his country and carried the resilience and resourcefulness he gained from his military service into his everyday life.
Known affectionately by many as “MacGyver,” Joseph was a man of incredible talent and ingenuity. Whether it was fixing the unfixable, crafting something extraordinary from the simplest materials, or lending his wisdom and hands to those in need, Joseph was truly one of a kind. He was a talented craftsman whose engineering skills left many in awe, and his giving nature made him a father figure to all who knew him.
Joseph’s heart was as large as his skillset—he was loved by countless friends, family, and neighbors for his selflessness, kindness, and unshakable loyalty. He found immense joy in being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys Pagan; his sons Hamilton, Joey, and Manny; his daughters Mercedes and Elizabeth; and his cherished grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and creativity.
Joseph’s life was a blessing to all who had the honor of knowing him. His family and friends will miss him deeply and remember him as the extraordinary man who could truly do it all.
Visitation will be held at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Followed by a private committal service.
