Joseph A Scazafave's Obituary
Joseph A. Scazafave, of Wood-Ridge (previously of Jackson and Oakland) NJ, passed away on May 9, 2018 at 88 years old. He was the husband of Audrey Jones Scazafave. They were married 64 years.
Born in Fairview, New Jersey, he was the son of Albert and Lucy Scazafave. He attended Union Hills HS and was employed as a machinist for many years.
Joseph proudly served in the Quarter Master Corp in the Korean War from 1951-1953.
He was a member of the VFW and past Commander of Post 3336; Oakland, NJ. He was also a member of the Oakland Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, cards, bowling, and watching the Mets. He was a youth baseball coach and was enthusiastic about coaching his son. He will be remembered for his happy and loving personality.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey J. Scazafave, his children, Lucia McMorris (John), Madeline Batcho (Thomas), Albert Scazafave (Giulia), his grandchildren, Stephanie Protomastro (Steve), Emily and Joseph Batcho, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Philomena Favero, Mary Juliano, and Rose Romano and his brother Pat Scazafave.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home, Hasbrouck Heights, Tues, May 15th, at 9am to proceed to Corpus Christi RC Church for mass at 10am. Visitation is on Monday, May 14th, 4-8pm at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home. Private cremation to follow.
