When I began teaching at Mount School, Kristiana’s room was across the hall from mine.
She became a wonderful mentor. We both taught sixth grade. I had experience in another school district, but she helped me navigate a new school and district, and always with a smile and cheerful words. She was a breath of fresh air and a true friend, and later would become a mentor to many young teachers in the school district who still carry her positive values and love for teaching.
We became close friends, and I learned that she sang with the New York Choral Society,
along with Alan. My family enjoyed attending some of their wonderful events the highlight of which was a Christmas concert with the New York Choral Society and Peter Paul and Mary. I believe this concert is still televised on PBS at Christmas time. We brought my parents and along with our two sons, there were three generations at the concert. It was truly a highlight for all of us, and a wonderful memory of family and friends. Ginny Bushart.
