Lawrence A. Wettach's Obituary
With a big heart and a memorable sense of humor, Lawrence A. Wettach was a man of many talents, trades, and stories. Lawrence passed away Thursday, April 2nd at Maple Glen Nursing Home in Fair Lawn, NJ after a yearlong battle with illness. He was born in Orange, New Jersey to Swiss citizens George and Frieda Wettach and resided in Fair Lawn for much of his life. As a young man, he owned and operated his own business with offices in Manhattan and New Jersey, later transitioning into union work as a high-speed equipment operator. He was an avid traveler, spending much of his time in Europe and travelling through the US, but particularly enjoying vacations to many lighthouse towns with his family around New England.
He is survived by the children of his late sister Joyce Hussa: his nieces Heidi and Elise and his nephew Aaron Hussa; as well as his four beloved cats, Bruce, Reverb, Archie and Popo.
There will be a graveside service for Lawrence Wettach at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 326 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell, NJ at 1pm on Friday, April 24th
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
