One of my favorite memories of Tía Lola is a story she loved to tell me every time I saw her. When I was a baby, she helped my mom take care of me. One day, she accidentally didn’t close my milk bottle properly, and it spilled all over me and the brand-new bedding. She always laughed when she told it, even though she said she was so stressed at the time.
She told that story with so much joy, and it always made me smile. That was who she was kind, sweet, loving, but also firm, and incredibly intelligent. She was loved by so many.
Rest in peace, Tía Lola. You will be deeply missed, but you will live on through your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of us who were blessed to know and love you.
