Magdalena Manalo's Obituary
Mrs. Magdalena Ramos Manalo, 68, was born on July 21, 1946 in Tanay Rizal, Philippines. She came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour when she first began her teaching career at an orphanage. She soon married Pastor Abelardo Manalo on April 14, 1978. They pioneered their first mission work, Maranatha Baptist Church, in Balanga, Bataan in 1979. They started a second mission work in 1981-1990 in Nagbunga, Zambales, where she also opened a pre-school "Little Lights Learning Center". She was one of the pioneering teachers of Tarlac Christian School, which later expanded to become Tarlac Christian College. Her Godly influence on their 5 sons and prayerful desire for them to continue on the mission work had been answered faithfully. She is mother to Pastor Samuel and January, Pastor Gideon and Lorence, Pastor Jether and Hazel, Pastor Abel Manalo, Bro. Jacob and Myla Manalo. She is the loving grandmother to Kimberly, Elisabeth, Evangelyn, Jamuel, Eon, Elayna, Hadassah, Cassidy and David. She is loved dearly by her sisters, Susana Fulgado from California and Flordelisa Mallari from the Philippines.
Magda rested peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband on December 1, 2014, in her New Jersey home. Her second fight with breast cancer has ended but she accomplished so much in the 7 years of remission, an extension of God's love and grace to her life. She continued on to attain a Masters degree, taught faithfully at Fundamental Baptist College for Asians and later became the Principal of King's Kid Christian Academy in Villasis, Pangasinan.
She gave so much of her life to serving the Lord in sharing the Gospel to the lost. She was a bold soul-winner who saw through one's empty soul and ignored their life achievements/title for what truly was most important - a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a home in Heaven for all eternity with God. And of course, we cannot forget to mention her golden voice that impressed in our hearts the very message she brought, but through singing. "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," "I Asked The Lord," and "The Image of God" were three of her favorite songs requested by her "fans". Her gift of singing was passed on to her sons and now with the younger generation of Manalos. She will be truly missed by those whose lives she has touched. Without a doubt, she is in Heaven amidst the Almighty King and singing in His presence with the angels. Her life Bible verse: Psalm 104:33 "I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being."
