I have so many memories of my dear Aunt Mary. She was just 14 years older than me so I remember her as a young girl of about 18 carrying her study books home, then as a young woman with beautiful long hair falling in love, happy and smiling all the time. Then the wedding. Mary was raised Catholic as our whole family was but Don was of another religion so the rules of the Catholic Church were their ceremony could not be held in the church. The priest, however, found a way to perform the ceremony with his blessing and the couple wed in the rectory of St. John's church. I was there. Don was in the military during the time of the Korean conflict. I remember being at the lovebirds' apartment and Don was in uniform.......My Aunt Mary was devoted to her husband and to her three boys. She was a good wife and Mom watching over them and meeting their needs with love. She was the youngest of the five Landolfi girls and she loved to sign her cards to her siblings as 'your baby sister, Mary.' I just know the 'girls' were right there to meet their sister at the gates of Heaven. I miss each one.
