Miguel A Rivera's Obituary
Miguel Rivera, 53, of Newark, NJ, finished his race well on December 6, 2023, in East Orange, NJ after a well fought battle with cancer.
Born on December 21, 1969, in Newark, NJ, Miguel put his all into everything that he touched. When he wasn’t caring for his family, he was busy using his intellect to innovate, create, or practice his handyman skills. His sense of humor, generosity, and love for others made him a joy to be around.
Miguel spent over 30 years as a truck driver. When he wasn’t conquering the highways, he found joy in casting his fishing line, setting up camp, refinishing furniture, bowling, and whipping up a mean dish in the kitchen. He had a knack for turning ordinary moments into memorable adventures.
Miguel’s family was his greatest treasure. He leaves behind his wife Keyanna, whom he loved as his own flesh, three children at home, Zahara, Anamarie, and Raphael, and his adult children, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Lauren, and Mecca. Additionally he is survived by his mother Luz Maria Lopez, his father Rafael Lopez, and his siblings Judith (and Juan) Medina, Renia Castro, and Richard Rivera as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Miguel’s hope and salvation was found in His Savior Jesus Christ and he was a faithful member at Bread of Life Fellowship in North Arlington.
Memorial contributions can be sent to Rivera Family Fund.
