Nancy J Nimmo's Obituary
NIMMO Nancy J., 90, of Hasbrouck Heights and Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on August 22nd 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was predeceased by her devoted husband Richard "Dick" Nimmo and her sister Sandra Lucke. She is survived by her loving children Scott (Gail) Nimmo, Ellen (Russ) Connors, and Gregg (Karen) Nimmo.
Nancy was a cherished grandmother to Matthew (Amanda) Connors, Alyssa Connors, Christopher (Melissa) Connors, Andrew (Jennifer Sedgley) Nimmo, Mallory Nimmo, Keith (Sandy) Nimmo, Dean (Maura) Nimmo and Alex Nimmo. She adored each of her six great grandchildren. Nothing made Nancy happier than being with her family.
Nancy was a trailblazer throughout her life. In the early 1960s she started Bergen Limousine Rental Company, no small feat for a woman during this time. Later she and her late husband Dick established Bergen Funeral Service where they worked together for over 30 years. Few worked harder and longer than her and she truly loved her business. Throughout her life, Nancy was a devoted member of the First Reformed Church of Hasbrouck Heights where she attended regularly for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nutley Chapter. Her commitment to the church, community and her family was unparalleled.
Visitation will be held at the Hennessey Heights Funeral Home, 232 Kipp Ave, Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, August 25th from 2-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 26th at the First Reformed Church of Hasbrouck Heights, 300 Washington Place at 10am. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the First Reformed Church Memorial Fund.
