Pedro Besada Sanmartin's Obituary
Pedro Besada, 77, passed away on Monday morning, January 23, 2023, in Bronxville (Westchester County), New York.
Pedro is survived by Angela, his loving wife of 55 years, his beloved children Maria de los Angeles (Tony), Jose Benito (Maria Ines), Maria Jose (Manuel), and Peter (Jennifer), and his cherished grandchildren Natalia, Diego, Sofia, David, Gabriela, Antonio, Lucia, Manuel, and Claudia.
Pedro was born to Marcial and Carmen in Sanxenxo (A Granxa), spending much of his youth in the neighboring coastal town of Raxo, where he developed his love of the sea. After his family, nothing made him happier than the time spent fishing from his boat in waters near and far and showing off a haul of freshly caught porgies to his friends at the Bronxonia Yacht Club.
Pedro was a proud BAC Local 1 NY retiree and split his time at home in both Crestwood, New York and Sanxenxo (Dorron), Pontevedra. He will be fondly remembered for his joking and playful spirit, his love for his family and friends, his generous heart, and his keen appreciation for garage sale treasures.
Viewing will be held at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial and the Rites of Committal and Interment will be in Sanxenxo, Pontevedra, Spain.
