Rodrigo E Perdon's Obituary
Rodrigo Enriquez Perdon, lovingly known as “Papa Rudy” , passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the age of 94.
Born May 24, 1928 in Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines to Benigno Perdon and Avelina Enriquez, Rodrigo was the youngest of 6. He was the brother of Leticia, Nilda, Rodolfo, Salvador, and Rafael.
Before moving to the US in 1963, Rodrigo worked in Guam for the US Navy for 15 years. During this time, he met his wife, Josephine Apuli, in Manila.
In 1964, Rodrigo brought his wife and son to New York City. Here, Rodrigo earned a job at the New York Hilton, where he would spend the next 50+ years as a banquet server. At his time there, “Rudy” earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers, peers, and colleagues.
Predeceased by his wife Josephine (2012), son Rodrigo Jr. (2012), and grandson Derek (1989), Rodrigo is survived by his son Randy, daughter-in-law Christine, and his grandchildren Lauren, Matthew, Marc, Noel and his wife Samantha as well as many of his loving nieces and nephews.
Papa Rudy lived a very long, healthy, humble life. As long as he had his family, good food, and his HEAVENLY coffee, he was always happy. He will be forever dearly missed and loved by his family.
