Salvatore Valentino's Obituary
Salvatore Valentino, better known as my husband, dad, pop and pop pop, spent
his 93 years being a true family man. He and his wife Eleanor were inseparable.
Their 71 years of marriage were a blessing for both.
Sal was a Jersey City resident, son of Ernest and Mary Valentino. He had two
sisters and one brother. He was a loving dad to his four children Diane, Susan,
Nancy and Steven. He had six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Those
little ones always put a twinkle in his eyes.
Sal was a member of the Naval Reserve and often told stories about how much
time he spent hanging over the ship.
Sal always had time for his family. He attended basketball games, track meets
and softball games. He encouraged each one to be the best they could be. He
managed a women’s softball team for many years. His daughter and nieces were
his favorite players.
Besides his family, he enjoyed the Mets, breeding dogs and tropical fish. These
filled his days with joy.
Sal had a strong impact on everyone who knew him. He will be missed each
and every day.
