MATAWA, Steven P., 40, of Dumont, passed on June 5, 2017. He leaves behind his devoted wife Ann-Alise. Cherished daughter Kiera. His loving parents Gerald and Kathy. Caring brothers Dylan, Kevin and his wife Allison. Treasured grandmother Joan Sommer. Endearing mother-in-law Carol Christie. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, great niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven loved living life to the fullest. He was an Escalator Installation Expert-In-Training, bowling champion, avid hunter, antique enthusiast, sunglass connoisseur, and lover of all things food.
He found humor in everything and great pleasure with the little things in life. Through the ups and downs, he found his greatest joy in his little princess “Kiera Bella, Daddy’s little girl.” His memories will live on with all that knew him and he will be loved forever more. “Cats and dogs, living together…Mass Hysteria!”
A viewing will be held at Hennessey Heights Funeral Home, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on Thursday June 8 from 7-9pm and Friday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10am at Transformation Life Church in Wood-Ridge. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the college fund of Kiera Matawa.
