I am very sad to hear of Steven's passing. We went to school together from kindergarten at IHM through high school (SJHS). Those were wonderful times I will always remember his smile and zest for life. My prayers and condolences to his family.
I was one of Steven's teachers at SJHS. Although I taught many students in my career, I remember Steven so well. His smile comes to mind immediately. Condolences to his loved ones.
Steven came to our home when he was 11 or 12 yrs. old. He came to tutor Harry in math. It was like he never left. He came almost every day not to help Harry, but too hang around with me and my Mom Eileen even through high school. My Mother was wheelchair bound and he was so impressed with her determination not to let it stop her. My parents were in the antique business and he just could not get enough of the stories of how we came to get them. We would laugh and have such a great time. At one time I had gotten a union job with an insurance company and told him it was a "union job" and every time he would see me he would sing "Look for the union label". He wouldn't let me live it down. He had a great sense of humor very witty that's for sure!
We kept in touch over the years. No big deal a phone call her and there also a sudden visit by him which was appreciated by the whole family. He also got me a great job in the city giving authorization for a healthcare company.
When he became ill, we grew over the years closer. Had many long phone calls and I had visited him now and then. He is just one of the wonderful people that come into your life and you are blessed and make him apart of your family. He will always be loved and never forgotten.
