Teobaldo Ramirez-Gutierrez's Obituary
Teobaldo Ramirez Gutierrez passed on December 28, 2021 at the age of 83 under the care of the medical staff on 5 South at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. Fortunately, he was surrounded by his family and was in prayer through his final moments. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his resiliency and he will be forever remembered.
Teobaldo was a proud resident of Supe Pueblo, Peru for over 40 years before emigrating to the United States and eventually settling in Garfield, NJ for the second half of his life. His passion of all things related to cars was always a topic of conversation, and he always seemed to know when an oil change was needed or a loose lug nut had to be tightened. He spent several years as an associate and driver for “Comite #7” & “Empresa Virgen del Carmen” bus company in Barranca, Peru. Although retired for some years, he was also a proud textile colorist in the United States, beginning his 2nd career at ABD, Inc. and ending it at Pantone, Inc. He was also a devout believer of his Saint Rita of Cascia, patron saint of impossible causes, carrying her prayer card wherever he went.
He is predeceased by both of his parents, Teobaldo and Isolina Ramirez and his brother Luis Alberto Ramirez from Peru. He is survived by his caring wife, Iris Ramirez and his children who are both in the United States and abroad: Justina Ramirez and her spouse; Fatima Ramirez; Arturo Ramirez, his spouse, and children; Luis Teobaldo Ramirez and his spouse, daughter and granddaughter, Tulia Ramirez and her spouse, children, grandchild; and Rita Ramirez, her children, and grandchildren; along with several loved nephews and nieces, brother and sisters-in-law, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at Most Holy Name Church in Garfield, NJ at 10am on January 4, 2022 followed by the interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, NJ.
Memorial donations are being accepted by the family in lieu of flowers. Please contact the family for additional information.
