William D Berberich's Obituary
William D. Berberich
On Sunday, March 9, 2025, William D. Berberich (Bill) passed away peacefully at his home in New Jersey at the age of 87, following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Forest Hills, PA, to Leonard Joseph and Ida Mae Berberich, William was predeceased by his brothers, Robert L. and M. Bruce.
He attended Columbia University, earning both a B.S. and a B.A. in Chemical Engineering. After serving in the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant aboard the destroyer USS McNair, he earned his MBA at The Wharton School of Business.
Bill was a man who embraced life with passion, authenticity and integrity . He found immense joy in all things ocean—boats, the beach, seafood, and sushi—always drawn to the water and the beauty it held. His sense of humor and love of laughter were reflected in his favorite movies, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and What About Bob?, as well as the show Seinfeld.
Bill was outgoing and never afraid to say what was on his mind. He loved to talk, share stories, and engage with those around him, always bringing energy and inspiration wherever he went. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and now he rests in peace, reunited with his Heavenly Father.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Cecilia, and their three daughters: Pamela Berberich (Ken Boston) and their son, Liam; Jen Blomquist (Jon) and their sons, Tanner and Austin; and Karen Spickler (Edwin) and their sons, Griffin and Gavin.
A visitation will be held at Hennessy Heights Funeral Home in New Jersey on Sunday, March 16, from 1-3 p.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Thursday , March 20th at 2 p.m.
