William Rudd's Obituary
It is with a very sad and heavy heart to announce that my Beloved Father Bill Rudd
passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 14th 2023 at Juniper Village, Paramus
New Jersey.
Almost 1 year ago Bill and Arlene took up residence at Juniper Village Assisted Living.
When they were well enough they both enjoyed the events and participated in the
activities there. Sadly Arlene passed away after a long cancer battle last November 4th
2022.
William was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1935 and attended St John's grammar school. He
was the youngest son of John and Florence Rudd and pre-deceased by his parents and
his Beloved brother John Rudd. Bill attended Saint Aloysius High School where he was an
Honor student and Class President of student council in his Senior year.
In 1955 he would meet and later Marry his Soulmate and Love of his Life, Arlene. They
were blessed with their only child Lynda in1961. Bill attended Rutgers University night
school achieving his degree in Accounting while working full time as an Accountant and
growing his family.
Bill and Arlene enjoyed camping with Lynda growing up and then throughout many
decades with their camping club wherein they made many lifelong friends. They took
much pleasure with decades of travel Domestically and Internationally. They were very
fond of gaming and casinos. Bill also took pleasure at the Beach, Ocean swimming and
fishing. Bill took delight at watching old movies and especially old westerns.
Bill and Arlene were members of the First Congregational Church of River Edge and Bill
volunteered on committees at Church and did Volunteer work delivering meals on wheels
with Arlene. Bill utilized his accounting skills by volunteering income tax preparation for
AARP.
Bill considered himself a champion of Liberty and had an enduring Love of the United
States of America. He was active in educating others on our country's founding principles
and the United States Constitution.
He is survived by his only daughter Lynda Borge and son in law Richard Borge, his nieces
Denise McCarthy, Michelle Gorman and nephew John Rudd and their children and
grandchildren along with his cousins Rob and Jacqueline Haley.
A memorial service for both Bill and Arlene is being planned for later this year at the First
Congregational Church of River Edge.
