Bruno Alexandre Da Silva E Almeida, age 47, passed away on February 12th, 2024 in NYC. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal, to his mother Lisete Da Silva. He was the father of Alexander Rodrigues Almeida and ex-husband of Sandra Crist Read Obituary

Bruno was a most special person, gentle, so very caring and knowledgeable about wines, and so good to see his welcoming smile when we came to Toqueville. Our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends on this most tragic loss.
Rosie and I always looked forward to seeing Bruno at Tocqueville. In addition to hearing his knowledgeable recommendations for our wine selections I especially enjoyed discussions with him on football (soccer). Together we enjoyed disparaging such over valued teams as Benfica and Manchester United. His knowledge of European football easily rivaled his knowledge of wine.
He was kind and generous in his knowledge of wines. We respected all his recommendations, and over time he remembered what we liked. He was a special person and we mourn his loss.
Bruno and I met in 2017 (or possibly earlier). I was a wine sales rep and he was buying wine in NYC. I remember how kind and thoughtful he was in our meetings. Always inquisitive, humble; it was easy for me to see how much he loved what he did. He was considerate and supportive and genuine. I’ll miss his warm smile. Bruno touched many people in our wine world, and I hope he knew how much he was loved. It’s hard to comprehend this loss. I’m sending my love and prayers to Bruno’s son and family.
I met Bruno over email in July of 2021. From thr first time we spoke, we became friends. Since 2021, he was my collaborator on the events I did in NY. I could always count on him! He was a great support, as a colleague and as a friend. And he always gave me updates on how his son was. He was such a proud and loving dad. I loved working with him and was so looking forward to working together again later this year. Bruno was a wonderful friend and I miss him so much. Sending love to his family.
